[There are a lot of things that Trevor could say to that. How it's literally his job and purpose to protect other people. How anything else feels like such a waste and would be spitting on the graves of his family. How he already did that for ten years and hated himself and is slowly beginning to hate himself again for this uselessness. That he's not someone who ever wanted to be protected.

I'm stronger, faster, and more durable in my magical girl form than in my normal form. And I can also summon my weapon. I use a spear that can break up into chunks and turn into a whip.
[ Kyoko grins, proud of herself as she nods at Trevor. ]
Really? My family weapon's a whip, too. I'd like to see that. Ours doesn't turn into anything else, but I'm fairly sure it contains a soul of a woman who died 500 years ago.
[He gives a grin back, hiding most of his weariness.]
You know, Sypha gave me my magic back. I can show you whenever you want. But I'm only gonna show you when you're better and not in the hospital anymore.
I haven't really talked to either of them, [ she admits. ] But I'd probably not want to piss off Dracula just cause Hunter'll get grumpy at me if I do.
Then it's a good thing I don't know if I count as human anymore, [ she retorts, grin on her face. It's a little joke, tossed out without thinking, but the way Kyoko's expression shifts a little afterwards tells Trevor she's been thinking about this more often than not. ]
[ She gives Trevor a wide grin, showing off her entirely human teeth. But after that, Kyoko leans back in her chair as she continues to talk. ]
My soul's not in my body anymore. It's in this little thing called a soul gem. If you took it away from me for too long, I'd pass out, just turn into an empty husk. When I'm transformed, I don't feel as much pain as I do when I'm a normal human. My body's changed so that I can fight better, fight longer, and take more hits. Stuff that would kill a normal person, I just shrug off.
I'm not really human. I'm just something optimized for killing witches.
