Oh...

[So even if he doesn't get to keep the dagger right away, the magical ownership will be transferred to him. Well, that's cool. Walter is definitely a little nervous about this but it's not like he expected psychic control of a dagger to involve anything less.

He nods and uses the dagger to make a small cut on the knob of his palm below his pinky. Then the drop of blood is tilted onto the gem.]

Woah.

[He expected to move it with his mind, exactly like in that book and movie Matilda, not that it would so truly enter his mind. He takes a big step back, and the dagger wobbles in the air.]

Yeah, I can see now why you saved this for someone crazy enough to handle it.

[Math lady meme. Yes he literally thinks that.]

You've heard every version of "Thanksgiving must be awkward" in the book, I take it.

Did he get better? Or did you just kind of mount him on the wall for posterity?

[Backpedaling:] You know, like a talking head that passes down wisdom.

[But that wasn't relevant at all in the end... Walter listens thoughtfully to this story.]

I didn't think he was here now... did he graduate? [Feels like a bit of a blunt question but oh well, it's a gap in Walter's knowledge of prominent Bargizens, and "is he doing well" seems off when Trevor is in his corner about how this place is Bad.]

Oh, yeah, I had Hunter run me a checkup when I first arrived because of how I died, really gave me peace of mind. Funny name for a vampire's kid, haha.

[Is this like what Taylor and Kazuma had...?]

[Trying to pick out "Alucard"... It'll take a moment...]

Makes sense. Well, I'm glad it's working out well for them, being able to go back home together when they're done here.

What? But in the flood, injuries in fake reality were for real, right...?

Has this all been a trap? I completely understand that you are far more skilled than I, but it seems very dangerous.

Wasn't there a whole ship like that? Prisoners always struggling against the current [And he starts at this point--] and getting more baloney stacked on their sentence sandwich.

[If Trevor's going to cajole like that then fine, Walter will make a legitimate attempt to use the element of surprise as he would were he serious. It's less fast than he'll become - about as much as if Walter did lunge a stab holding the knife with all the strength of his arm.]

[Walter is quite rattled by the lack of sound from blade impact, signifying Trevor did fully dodge. He stares where the dagger was, a bit obscured by the fluttering cloak, and then thrusts his hand out to guide his focus as he tries to get it to chase the man. Even its very tip touching would be fine to start. How fast can Trevor jump around anyway?]
