That wouldn't make any difference to me, [ he points out. ] Zero only nullifies abilities, correct? I don't have the strength given to me by my Crest and I don't know any magic. If someone wanted to put me under house arrest, literally any room would work.
They did that to me here too. It was a nice nap. And I'd been locked in Lark's cabin a handful of times.
The worst was when they made it so if I got into fights, I'd go incorporeal. I could defend myself, but if someone was beating on a friend, or an innocent random person, I couldn't do shit to stop them.
Fuck no. It was god awful. That helplessness, walking around knowing I couldn't intercede, I had to call a fucking warden for help? Never mind that one had already done that to me..
All it takes is one call to the Necromancer. One of the many reasons why I hate him. I'll talk to him for important shit I can't get anywhere else - your lance, for example - but magical restraints in a way that forces you to act against the instincts that keep you alive is evil.
[ There's a moment where Dimitri is just silent, thinking about how things might have gone if he had a different warden. Trevor is already doing so much for him. And yet...all he's done is get the man in trouble. Sure, Trevor is probably happy about the fact that Dimitri did a good job beating Max up. But that doesn't change the fact that other wardens probably think lesser of him now.
Surely there must be something he can do to actually show Trevor his thanks. Instead, Dimitri simply nods before saying, ]
[And here's where Trevor can't even bring himself to feel bad about how things went. He's always been an outsider warden, so irritating Sanzo and Kirei and the rest isn't anything new. But it's worth it to know he's doing right by Dimitri.
He gives a gruff nod back]
You're welcome.
If any of those fucks give you grief, point them my way.
[ There's a steely determination in Dimitri's voice...but there's also the hint of something that might be a smile in his tone. He's definitely looking at his warden in a new light nowadays.

[ There's a moment of dawning horror before Dimitri asks, ] But you're never going to do that to me, are you?
[ He's not hiding the fact that the inability to help, being forced to stand by when someone else was hurting, that terrifies him ]
