[He nods at that. It's... almost a relief, to know it's not just for his sake. Makes him feel less like a pathetic charity case, or a dog in need of enrichment.]
Hopefully it will stay nothing but an amusing side project, but considering the Admiral's bouts of frankly worrying incompetence...

He's never really seen Flapjack change from cardinal to little wooden statue... given that he's been dragged to the infirmary all of, oh, two times? And both those times the focus was more 'how on Earth do you manage to always fuck up your hand so badly jfc' and less cute little critters.
"Understandable, of course. Were the Admiral less ungenerous about restricting Inmates' abilities, I could personally easily see to keeping the entire ship fed if necessary."
He says, continues knitting the net.
"Of course, not that I particularly care should most people here starve."
Sebastian chuckles softly. Yeah, they're in agreement about the Admiral.
At Trevor's comment about starvation, Sebastian meets his eye for a moment, raising his eyebrows. Trevor, he's... he's a monster. Of course he doesn't care if people suffer.
He returns his attention to the net. "...Yes, well. As much as you keep assuring me that graduating is possible for anyone, I do still suspect such a fate is what the Admiral has planned for me."
Starvation, that is (and he says it so nonchalantly). So obviously it makes sense that Sebastian should have no problem with the rest of the ship suffering the same fate.
He pauses in his net-making for a moment, looking up at Trevor. Talking about aesthetics is Important and deserves his undivided attention.
"I have lived for a very long time. Once enough time has passed, simply surviving begins to feel quite meaningless."
Sebastian would die for his young master. Supposedly died trying to save him, in fact. Not because of sentiment, but because he swore to protect him at any cost. In face of that, survival is nothing.
It is indeed a demon thing. And at least the parts of the net Sebastian has worked on hold together beautifully - Sebastian is stupidly strong, after all, and of course he's excellent at making nets.
He shakes his head.
"I loathe every moment I am apart from the young master. But speaking to humans about human matters... I have been doing that for well over three years by now. Of course much of it is tedious and insipid, but humans, when you truly, desperately want something... you will act in interesting ways."
Lesser beings as they might be (he doesn't verbalise)...
This comes as little surprise to Trevor, who would have been educated on creatures that preyed on humans and thought themselves superior. He's not exactly a cheerleader for humanity above all else, anyway; he just works to eliminate threats where he finds them, superior or not.
He snorts, and sets to working on repairing the tears he himself made.
As they have moved on from the Very Important subject of aesthetics, Sebastian joins Trevor once again with the repairs, working quickly and efficiently as always.
"Yes, well." Sebastian isn't allowed to lie; he can't deny the accuracy of that statement.
"Supposedly that is what I need to rectify in order to graduate - viewing humans as entertaining prey."
But how on Earth is he supposed to manage that, when he is superior to humans?
