[ Dimitri wakes up from his coma with a small groan. He blinks. Looks around. Props himself up on his elbows...and then immediately notices Trevor, hanging out in his room.

That small groan becomes a more annoyed one as he grumbles, ] What exactly happened to me?

[ and can he just go back to bed? He wants to go back to bed now. ]

[Trevor, covered in scratches and bite marks and bruising, is icing his arms in an ice bath from the amount of pressure he put them under. He jumps, then grumbles, not expecting Dimitri to rise so soon]

Jesus.

Take it easy. You've been in a coma for a few weeks.

A coma?

[ He's so confused. And, in true Dimitri fashion, also angry. ]

Who did this to me?

No one. Or, maybe the Admiral, fuck if he'll say.

[He eases his arms out of the bath and wipes them down with a towel]

It's not a 'hit you in the face' coma. It's a 'suddenly you fall asleep and don't wake up' kind of thing.

[ Dimitri lets out another noise of aggravation. This sucks? This sucks. Whatever magical nonsense the Admiral hit him with (because OBVIOUSLY it was the Admiral), the man will pay.

He looks over at Trevor, taking in his warden, before asking, ]

What the hell happened to you?

Monster attack. Happened about a day ago. Got it handled with most of the ship, but a lot of people got hurt.

[He starts bandaging his arms rather clumsily, using his teeth and fingers to his best ability]

[ Dimitri scowls, pushing himself more upright as he turns towards Trevor. ]

Let me bandage you up. You're doing a horrible job of it.

[He scowls right back but makes no verbal argument]

Kind of hard to do it when both your arms are fucked. Thanks.

[ And to be fair, Dimitri is pretty good at bandaging Trevor up. It's obvious he's used to patching up wounds and taking care of people, as much as he doesn't actually like doing so. ]

I'm assuming that monster attack is what messed up your hands?

Yeah. Just overextended them when I needed to play defense.

You all right? Comas are a pain in the ass.

I'm fine, [ Dimitri grumbles. ] Annoyed, but fine.

Are you ever not annoyed?

[He checks his bandages, smiling a little when he sees they're done to standards]

Obviously. Sometimes I'm sleeping.

[ There's a small little hint of a smile in Dimitri's tone of voice. Is that a joke? It might be a joke. Look at him, he's making jokes! ]

[He grins back, standing up with a stretch]

I've seen you sleep. Even then, your brow's all furrowed with fucking thought.

Want to go eat? My coma, I was starving after I came out of it.

I could eat a horse, [ Dimitri admits, with a little sigh. He stands up as well, stretching as he looks over at Trevor. ]

When did you fall in a coma?

At the start of spring, for about a month. No warning that it was about to happen, woke in the infirmary.

[He holds the door for Dimitri to come out after him]

[ Dimitri follows, moving past Trevor so he can close the door. ]

Does the Admiral claim these comas have any use? Or is it simply to torment us?

Don't know. I wouldn't put it past him to have it all be a roll of the dice and something he can't even control.

[ He lets out a small, bitter laugh, shaking his head as he grumbles, ]

That wouldn't surprise me. The man seems incompotent at best.

He's a fuckhead.

[Trevor is very say-what-he-means, especially when it comes to the Admiral. He heads for the kitchens]

Got a favorite hangover food or should I make you some of mine?

As long as it's not cold, I'm not a picky eater.

[ Most food tastes the same to Dimitri these days anyway. ]

Deep-fried potatoes and beer it is.

[Always the best hangover food for Trevor, who starts up the fryer]

I do like potatoes, [ Dimitri admits. ] I haven't ever drunk much in the way of beer, though.

[ he's baby ]

No shit? I don't have potatoes in my world but we have more beer than water. Even the kids drink it because the water's not usually safe to drink.

[He starts slicing some potatoes up into thin medallions for frying]

You want to try some? Water's surprisingly good here.

How could the water not be safe to drink? [ Dimitri asks, with a frown. There's a part of him that just wants to grump, to push away from Trevor and go back to himself...but he is a bit hungry. And he is still kind of tired. He can suffer through this for the moment. ]

Say what you will about Fódlan, but we've never had problems of that sort.
