If all you're going to do is name foods I have or haven't tried, we're going to be here all day. Which I don't mind, personally I think it's going to get unbearably boring here as soon as you go, but we've got all eternity to try out new future foods, don't we?

Oh god. Purgatory might be kinder. I'm not a great cook.

You aren't now. But you did want me to teach you, and we should start with something you like.

I can roast and dry most meat. Chickens, goats, and deer, mainly.

I've never had goat. How does it compare to chicken?

You'd think it'd taste more like lamb, but it's actually closer to venison than anything.

You don't seem to have any animals here that aren't pets. Is all the meat dead?

[ukan]

We don't kill any of it if that's what you mean. The Admiral brings it in with the fresh vegetables.

And the meat's fresh? It doesn't taste salted.

[ukan]

It's fresh. Or at least it was, now that we had to get our own from port we're working on preserving it. I've frozen some so we can have fresh meals now and then but it won't keep forever.

Huh.

Well, I'm not cooking anything for at least a week. Unless you want to drag down a whole campfire down here so we can cook over an open flame and I doubt that anyone would think that was a very wardenly thing for you to do.

I'd bring down a barbecue but I don't think anyone has one they'd loan me. [Especially not for Trevor, the giant brat.]

I'll work up some recipes for when you're free. Do you need anything before I go?
