"Guess you'd have to." Trevor likes having weapons but he's not stupid enough to hold onto the other end of one, with a superstrength opponent on the opposite end. Feeling very much like his first fight with Alucard, he runs closer to Zack and lets go of the whip as he's pulled, using its momentum to gain some speed to that run.
He's taking out one of his throwing knives as he gets closer: throwing them won't do much good except as a distraction with Zack's speed, so he's going in for close range fighting for the moment.
Snapping the whip towards him so Trevor can’t get his hands on it again, Zack sidesteps the knife neatly and aims to kick the other man hard in the gut.
He’ll follow up that attack quickly, too, a sharp glow at his armband precipitating a burst of flame directed at Trevor.
He backs off to avoid the hit and gets clipped by the boot, coughing. Trevor swipes back at the boot but he’s caught off guard by the flames.
Instantly he brings his arm up to shield his eyes, letting the brunt of the flames hit his arm guard. Some of his face might be tender but his arm gets the worst of it.
He grins and makes a few daring stabs at Zack, slimming his body to the side to avoid a bigger target as he moves, ducks, and strikes like a viper.
Zack has to give Trevor credit; he's a hell of a lot better at fighting than Shinra grunts ever were. Which he expected just from what he gleaned about the man from Dracula's file, but words on a page can only tell you so much.
Blocking those thrusts with the handle of the whip he confiscated, Zack continues the back and forth for a bit. That he's starting to have fun may not be the best sign, but fighting is in his blood.
Dropping down to avoid broader swipe with the knife, Zack abruptly snaps back up in an attempt to headbutt Trevor. Hard.
If this were his actual family whip, Trevor might be pissed it were being used against him. But right now he’s having too much enjoyment trying by to find an opening Zack might leave him. He senses Zack is having just as much fun as he is and lets it show on his face, sweating but happy.
His teeth clench loudly as Zack’s headbutt crashes into his chin: that caught him in the tongue which is going to swell. His fist comes up to take the opportunity to get his opponent in the side of his ear.
The hit lands, and the blow rattles his teeth a little. He flips out of the way just to let the pounding sensation ease for a moment -- but then he's back in it, unwilling to stop what's turning out to be a pretty good brawl.
At some point, though, Zack does remember what he's actually supposed to be doing here. As such, he flips out of the way, unfurls the whips, and tries to lash it around Trevor's legs (or leg) to make him loose his footing.
Trevor rubs his jaw, chuckling. He hadn't expected someone like Zack to go for the head. Someone like him, sure.
He feels the telltale jerk of the whip around his legs and gives a laugh. As if he wouldn't have trained for this; as if his own father or elder siblings wouldn't have dropped him on his ass too many times to count. Trevor doesn't move: he crouches in short order and drops the knife he's holding to pull on the opposite side of the whip to free himself, and hopefully jerk Zack off-balance or force him to let go. It makes him weaponless but Trevor's eyeing to roll-dodge if need be.
Zack fights fair in the sense that he doesn’t punch someone when he says he won’t. However, on the battlefield? Headbutts and things like that are absolutely fair game.
He is expecting the yank, but given his strength and grip, he doesn’t budge much.
No, instead there’s the sharp glow of materia sending a wave of flame running directly up the whip. Trevor can hang on to it…or get burned.
“Shit-“ he has time to expel, letting go to save his hand and doing his best to kick off the remnants still around his ankle. He wings another knife at Zack in response, aiming for the shoulder wielding the whip.
While Trevor is distracted trying to free himself, Zack is already moving. The knife clips his shoulder, a touch of red visible against against his skin, but it doesn't slow him down.
He comes a Trevor at full speed, with every intention of punching him in the face.
Zack is a highly trained SOLDIER operative. He is well aware exactly how much force an unenhanced human body can take from someone with his level of strength.
As such, the punch that comes isn't enough to kill -- however, it is enough to break bone, even with protection. Trevor's arms may absorb the worst of it, but it's going to hurt like hell.
That bone is already fractured when Zack hits it. Zack’s arm connects and Trevor’s vision goes white with pain as he skids back from the hit. He doesn’t scream but he’s stunned by the shock coming up one of his arms and hesitates for a second too long.
Zack looks down at Trevor for a moment and just lets out a sigh. Rolling his injured shoulder a little, the first thing Zack does is search and disarm him. Then, just in case the guy wakes up before they get to Zero, he secures him with the now-normal whip.
Once he has his Trevor package secure, Zack picks him up and hauls his ass to Zero. He stops right at the threshold, before his powers cut out, to cast Curaga on himself and Trevor. So at least, when Trevor wakes up in his cell, he will be completely healed of all injuries.

But he appreciates the heals.
